Evacuations are expected to be lifted soon after crews shut off water to a line that broke in Lemmon Valley early Thursday morning.
Damage assessment is ongoing.
The 36-inch water line break prompted evacuations near Matterhorn Drive.
Crews with Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue say they responded to the waterline break around 7 a.m. in the Chesapeake Drive neighborhood.
Fire crews are on scene assessing damage to see where they can provide help.
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is helping with traffic control north of Lemmon Valley Drive between Oregon Blvd and Deodar Drive. Be aware that additional roads may be temporarily closed.
