Muskingum County Commissioners Open bids for Maysville Waterline Project - WHIZ - Fox 5 / Marquee Broadcasting
ZANESVILLE, OH – The Muskingum County Commissioners met to discuss two bids for the Maysville Waterline Regional Connections and Upgrades Project.
Zackhery Forker, the Muskingum County Assistant Project Director, said they began the project a while ago but this project looks to help get rid of Maysville outstanding TTHM issues.
He said the plan is to start work at the existing waterline on SR 555 and continue along Maysville Pike.
“There’s a couple of health concerns with the TTHM’s,” Forker explained, “So that’s what inspired this whole project to start.”
The two bidders on the project were RDR Utility Services Group, LLC from Clarksburg, WV. They bid $5,335,000; the second bidder was The Ruhlin Company of Sharon Center, OH. They bid $6,803,000.
Forker says the bid is currently under advisement by the county engineer.
“Generally our engineer works pretty quick,” Forker said. “So he could have that [done] within a week.”
More details on the Maysville Waterline Project will be announced in the coming weeks.
